As María Ángeles, an aging Spanish woman who has spent her entire life in Tangier, reaches the final chapter of her life, her peace is shattered when her daughter decides to sell the apartment María has lived in for decades. Refusing to accept the loss of her home, she begins fighting to preserve not only her living space, but also the memories tied to it. Along the way, she rediscovers her energy, reconnects with others, and finds love and desire once again.
The film offers a sensitive reflection on old age, identity, and the right to decide one’s own future. It emphasizes the dignity of women later in life and shows that even in times of loss, people can still discover freedom, passion, and new beginnings.
The film won the Audience Award in the Venice Spotlight section at the Venice IFF and was selected as Morocco’s Oscar submission for Best International Feature Film.
